Memorable Moments

International Ice Hockey Hall of Fame (IIHF HoF)

In May 2015, I was inducted as the first Swedish woman into the International Ice Hockey Hall of Fame (IIHF HoF). I had the honor of attending an incredibly memorable ceremony in Prague, Czech Republic, during the Men’s Ice Hockey World Championship. The other amazing individuals inducted that year were Dominik Hasek, Robert Reichel, Scott Niedermayer, Fran Rider, Monique Scheier-Schneider (Paul Loicq Award), and Richard “Bibi” Torriani, with the award going to Lucio Topatigh.

Sweden Hockey Hall of Fame (HHoF)

In March 2015, I was inducted as the second woman into Sweden’s Hockey Hall of Fame (HHoF). I received the award during the Women’s World Championship held on home soil in Malmö, Sweden. As part of the ceremony, this tribute video (shown to the right) was presented.

Invited to the White House in Washington

After all three NCAA Championship victories, we were invited to the White House in Washington, D.C., to be honored by President George W. Bush. As team captain, I had the privilege of presenting our gift—a Bulldogs jersey—to President Bush and even got the chance to chat briefly with one of the most powerful leaders of our time. It’s an unforgettable memory that I will always cherish.

Four Olympics

My four Olympic Games! Athletes from all over the world come together to compete for their own and their nation’s glory. It’s a time and place for making history and fostering peace among people and countries. Those three weeks are filled with focus, joy, disappointment, and deep emotions. Participating in the Olympics is undoubtedly worth all the hard work—the countless hours in the gym, on the ice, and in training.

UMD's School Record

On February 22, 2003, I set UMD’s school record for total career points (men’s and women’s) with a goal and an assist in a game against Bemidji State. I finished my college career with 232 points, including 119 goals.
